Some are even free to use but they are generally not as good as Midjourney or DALL♾ 2 such as DALL♾ Mini. There are other AIs that do the same sort of thing. However, if it’s just a bit better than the new -test parameter it will not be on the same level as DALL♾ 2. Let’s see, maybe Midjourney will get to the same level with its much-expected upgrade. However, DALL♾ 2 is still in closed beta (added later: I wrote an article that includes a link to the beta sign-up.) Right now, DALL♾ 2 does the same job but more photo-realistically than Midjourney, and it can do art as well. Is Midjourney the best AI out there for this sort of thing? It can do great stuff, but you’ll probably have to spend a lot of time trying to get the AI to do exactly what you want. If so, then no, the monthly license fee is probably not worth it (unless the AI becomes better,) especially if you have a very specific image in mind. While many of the images look fine they are most often not what you’re looking for (if you’re anything like me.)Īnd while I have fun using the AI, you might just want to use it to create something you need, like a book cover. The cheapest monthly plan however is $10 plus VAT and is limited to 200 images. If after the free images are gone you’d like to get access you can buy more. Type in /imagine, click on prompt, and just type in the text you'd like the AI to create for you. Once you hit the Midjourney Discord Server click to the left on one of the Newbie groups (if you do not see these you’ll have to give the server a bit of time. You’ll need to install the Discord app first if you haven’t already, but that’s pretty much that. I know you’d like to try it yourself, and at the time of writing, you get something like 20 free images by joining Midjourney’s open beta.
